Terms of Service

Acceptance & eligibility

Discoverly installs inside the Shopify admin as an embedded app. You may use it only if you operate a Shopify store, are authorized to bind that store to these terms, and are able to form a binding contract. Your use is also subject to Shopify's own Terms of Service and API License and Terms of Use; where they conflict with these terms for actions taken on the Shopify platform, Shopify's terms control.

What the service does

Discoverly reads your store's public and admin-accessible data to produce an AI Visibility Score and diagnostics, and generates optional draft fixes — theme agent files (robots.txt, llms.txt) and rewritten product content. Scanning is read-only. Draft fixes are never written to your live store automatically: every change is presented for review, published only on your explicit action, and your original content is retained so any published change can be rolled back.

The Score is a readiness index, not a guarantee of traffic, ranking, revenue, or citation by any AI assistant. We do not control how ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini or any third-party model reaches, reads, or represents your store.

Your content & responsibility

You retain all rights to your store data and to any content you publish through the app. You are solely responsible for reviewing AI-generated suggestions before publishing them, and for ensuring published content is accurate, lawful, and not misleading. Writing to a published (live) theme takes effect immediately; you confirm you have reviewed the diff before you publish. You grant us a limited licence to process your content only as needed to provide the service.

Plans, quotas & billing

Scanning, scoring and diagnosis are free. Content optimization is metered and billed through Shopify managed billing; charges appear on your Shopify invoice under the plan and usage you approve. Free content-optimization quota and paid usage meters reset on a monthly cycle. You may cancel at any time from the Shopify admin; cancellation stops future charges but does not refund usage already incurred except where required by law.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app: no reverse engineering, no circumventing quotas or billing, no using the service to generate deceptive, infringing, or unlawful content, and no attempt to disrupt or overload our systems or the third-party services we rely on. We may suspend access for conduct that threatens the security or integrity of the service.

Third-party services

The app relies on third parties including Shopify, a large-language-model provider (accessed through our proxy) for content generation, and Exa for off-site visibility signals. Their availability and results are outside our control, and your use of features that depend on them is subject to their respective terms.

Data & privacy

Our handling of the data the app accesses — what we collect, how we use it, our sub-processors, where it is processed, retention, and your rights under the GDPR and CCPA/CPRA — is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Discoverly honours Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks for customer-data access, customer redaction, and shop redaction on uninstall.

Warranties & liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, rankings, or data; our total aggregate liability is limited to the amounts you paid for the app in the three months preceding the claim.

Changes & termination

We may update these terms; material changes will be signalled in the app or by email, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. You may stop using and uninstall the app at any time. On uninstall or termination we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
